The Dog Channel featured a great article about dogs traveling aboard Cunard’s purebred ocean liner, the Queen Mary 2. The story details the adventures of three different dogs, each with representing one of the general reasons a K9 might go to sea. The first was an obvious but little considered reason: basic transportation. A Tampa, Florida couple had a five year old Bulldog, which it appears cannot fly because the breed is known to have issues surviving long trips by air. For the couple traveling by sea was not simply a pleasure but logistical necessity hearkening back to the romantic and often leveraged history of cruising.
